Sift together flour,
baking powder, sugar and salt. |

Combine egg yolk and milk. |

Add sifted dry ingredients
to egg - milk mixture and stir until well - blended. |

Mix in melted shortening. |

Beat egg whites separately
until it forms soft peaks. Fold into flour mixture. |

Cook pancakes by pouring
butter into hot greased griddle or skillet. |

Turn pancakes with syrup
and butter. |

Yield: Makes about 1 1/2
dozen of pancakes. |
