Dandruff. Warts. Constipation. Gum problems. Excess weight. Diabetes. Heart disease. Even AIDS.

I have been taking two tablespoonfuls of extra virgin coconut oil orally. I also apply it to my face and hair, for insect bites and skin rashes.

Alternative medicine

Is it possible to find an answer to all this in just one bottle?

Peter Paul Philippine Corp., a longtime manufacturer and exporter of desiccated coconut (Hershey and Mars get their supplies from the company), seems to have succeeded in placing a miracle in a bottle with its Clear Virgin Coconut Oil.

What sets this company apart from other virgin coconut oil producers is the strict and careful process they follow in manufacturing their product. Jose T. Quimson, president of the Peter Paul Philippine Corp., says, “We have passed ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards and we believe firmly in quality control.”

Growing fan Club

That’s good news for the growing number of virgin coconut oil fans in the country.

With several similar products in the market, Quimson stresses the importance of choosing the right brand oil virgin coconut oil. “If you’re going to drink something, you better make sure it comes in a reliable source.”

These past months, virgin coconut oil has created a buzz for its countless uses, winning over many Filipinos.

“If there is one oil you could use for your daily cooking needs, that help protect you from heart disease, cancer and other degenerative conditions, improve your digestion, strengthened your immune system, protected you from infectious illnesses, and help you excess weight, would you be interested?” Bruce Fife, ND, author of “The Healing Miracles of Coconut Oil,” asked in his book.

And, apparently, many people are interested.

There are people who drink one or two tablespoons of virgin coconut oil every day. Some use it fro cooking, as substitute for olive oil. Others use it to top off their salads and rice. I’ve actually drizzled it over ice cream and, yes, it was good.

Best Oil

Fife proclaimed virgin coconut oil as the healthiest oil on earth. And he had data to back up his claim.

As cooking oil, studies have shown it can lower cholesterol levels. It is also recommended for people with diabetes because of its zero sugar content.

Virgin coconut oil has been known to aid in the cure of dandruff, skin allergies and acne. Some people use it as toothpaste. Others have used it as lubricant. It has also been reported to help ease the discomfort of hemorrhoids.

But Fife says there are more benefits to be derived from the oil. Virgin coconut oil intake may reduce the risk of artherosclerosis (blocking of the arteries), heart disease, and cancer. It can help prevent bacterial, viral and fungal infections (including yeast infection). It supports the immune system and healthy metabolic functions, helps control diabetes, acts as energy source and improves digestions and nutrient absorption.

Virgin coconut oil also supplies nutrients needed for good health. It has less calories than other fats, promotes weight loss, prevents osteoporosis (brittle bones), premature aging and wrinkling of the skin. It keeps skin against skin cancer and other blemishes and functions as a protective antioxidant.

And virgin coconut oil has a long shelf life. Yeah, like you’d still have some left after using it for all those things!

Many people gladly share stories of how virgin coconut oil changed their lives. Soon, one of those stories may be yours.
